3 injured in 2-alarm fire in Schuylerville

A two-alarm fire injured three people and damaged a home in Schuylerville Saturday morning.

Officials say the fire engulfed the home at around 8:15 a.m. The fire sparked on the first floor of the home and quickly spread to the top floor.

It took 100 firefighters approximately one hour to contain the flames, according to police.

Officials say a man who lives in the home was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center with burns to his forehead and arms. Two firefighters were said to have suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Neighbors told News 12 that they are praying for the people who live in the home, an elderly woman and her son.

Police say the damage to the home is significant and that the family will have to temporarily relocate to another location.
