The Department of Transportation is hoping that newly installed traffic lights will stop cars from speeding on the Pelham Parkway.
The traffic lights are not installed just yet and a crosswalk needs to be put in so people can get from one side of the parkway to the other.
People say that it is a major issue for those who have to walk to and from work during peak traffic hours.
News 12 has reached out to the Department of Transportation which says that they are working on evaluating other factors of the parkway to make it safer.
The evaluation should be completed by the end of the summer.
