The case is moving forward against the owner of two pit bulls that attacked a Brooklyn man in the Bronx.

Police say two pit bulls owned by Cynthia Oliver attacked 62-year-old Francesco Bove outside the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church last Friday. Oliver was subsequently charged with assault and reckless endangerment.

On Wednesday, Oliver waived her presence in court, allowing her lawyer to take her stead. Oliver will now have a chance to testify before a grand jury, which will decide if the charges against her will stick.

Oliver remains jailed on $35,000 bond. Her next court date is set for Oct. 8.

Bove's right ear was nearly bitten off in the attack, and the dogs' teeth also took chunks out of both of his arms. He tells News 12 that he expects to be released from the hospital soon.
