NYPD: Baby thrown from window has died

A Bronx baby was found dead after being thrown from an apartment window Monday afternoon, police say.
Investigators say the newborn girl was thrown from a building on West 183rd Street in University Heights at around 2:30 p.m. The child was pronounced dead by first responders.
Officials had earlier said that the child was a boy, but preliminary reports from the medical examiner's office show that to be wrong.
The baby still had her umbilical cord attached, according to officials. They say that they have surveillance video showing the child's fall.
Police say the baby was found on concrete ground in the rear courtyard of 130 West 183rd St.
A woman outside the apartment told News 12 that her ex-boyfriend, who she also says lives in the top floor of the building, was taken by police for questioning.
Police say no arrests had been made as of Monday evening.
