BX couple helps save man from burning car

A young Bronx couple is being credited with helping save the life of a fellow Bronx resident on the Sprain Brook Parkway this morning.

Police say a driver was traveling southbound on the roadway just after 8 a.m. when his vehicle spun out near the Tuckahoe Road exit. The car was caught between the guardrail and a fence, and caught fire while the driver was trapped inside.

The passing-by couple pulled over their vehicle, broke the windows of the man's car and helped pull the driver to safety.

State police say the driver suffered minor injuries.
