Celines Toribio back in BX for movie premier

Latina actress Celines Toribio's new movie, "Maria Montez," opened in the Bronx Friday.

The film follows the life of one of the very first Latin actresses in Hollywood. It is shown in Spanish with English subtitles.

Toribio said it was incredible playing the part of such a powerful Latina woman.

As an alum of Lehman College, she says she's especially proud that her film is playing in the Bronx.

The Multiplex Cinemas is one of three theaters in New York City where the film is featured. It will be playing until Oct. 9.
