Mom accused of killing baby appears in court

The woman accused of throwing her newborn daughter to her death out of a seventh-story window in University Heights appeared in court Monday.

Jennifer Berry remained quiet as her lawyer informed the judge that she declined to testify before the grand jury handling her case.

The judged adjourned the case until her next appearance later this month.

Prosecutors in Westchester have reopened an investigation into the 2008 death of another of Berry's children.

An autopsy of the baby boy in that case initially determined that he'd died of natural causes, but officials are now second-guessing that decision.
