Traffic along the Hutchinson River Parkway came to a screeching halt Tuesday after a car swerved off the road and almost landed in the water.
Police say the car veered off the road and hit a light post. They say the vehicle ricocheted off the lamp post. Pieces of the vehicle were scattered along the road.
Police say the two men who were in the vehicle were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The accident is now under investigation.
