2 NYPD officers struck on Major Deegan; driver arrested

Two NYPD officers were struck by a suspected drunken driver on the Major Deegan Expressway Saturday.

Police say the incident occurred while the officers were waiting for a tow truck to pick up a broken down car.

The officers were on the roadway near Exit 11 and Van Cortlandt Park South when Jorge Rosado drove into them. He was arrested and charged with DWI.

Both officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to North Central Bronx Hospital. They were treated and released.
