Police say they are still on the hunt for a man accused of trying to sexually assault an 8-year-old girl in Mount Hope last weekend.

Authorities say the incident occurred next to I.S. 117.

They say the 20-year-old suspect lurked behind the little girl as she entered her apartment building. He then came up behind her and covered her mouth, restricted her movement and put his hands down her pants, police say.

The girl screamed and then the suspect ran off down the street. They say the girl was evaluated at a hospital and then sent home.

Fliers with a sketch of the suspect's face have been posted throughout the neighborhood. Police have offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to his arrest.
