Police: Taxi driver robbed, car stolen at knifepoint

Police are looking for a man who robbed a taxi driver, and stole his car in Baychester

They say the 44-year-old driver picked up the man in his green cab at 207th Street and Bainbridge Avenue around 7 p.m. Sunday.

Shortly after, police say the man threatened the cab driver with a knife and demanded his iPhone and cash.

Police say the driver complied with the suspect, who forced him from the cab at the corner of Arno Avenue and Gunther Avenue and then took off toward I-95.

Officials have released two pictures of the suspect, who is described as being in his 30s, and wearing a black-hooded jacket.

They say the green cab has yet to be found.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
