Groups vie for science center in the Bronx
Community leaders are vying for a chance to house the American Museum of Natural History's new science center in the Bronx.
The South Bronx Economic Development Corporation says Garrison Park has the potential to become the center's home.
The group submitted a bid to the city to turn the park near P.S. 31 into a science playground. The group has also proposed turning P.S. 31 itself into a science school.
The museum is holding an informational meeting on its plans in Manhattan Thursday.
