'Map the Homeless' app stirs controversy in NYC

A new app that allows users to "Map the Homeless" is stirring a debate in the city.

The app's users are encouraged to take photos of the homeless and put their location on a map.

Organizers say they are presenting a pressing social problem in an effort to get the city to solve it.

Homeless advocates say it's more harassment than help.

As of Tuesday night, nearly 58,000 people were in shelters -- a 13 percent increase from the same night two years ago. That figures does not count the people on the streets.
