Police say they are searching for a man accused of robbing a 72-year-old woman inside her East 137th Street apartment building in Mott Haven. 

They say the victim was exiting an elevator at around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday when the suspect sprayed her in the face with pepper spray and threw her to the ground.

Police say the suspect took off with the woman's purse. In surveillance video, he is shown wearing a blue Yankees hat, jeans and red sneakers. He also appears to have a tattoo on the back of his neck.

The victim is expected to be OK.
