Woman drugged, ripped off by man from 'Tango' app
A Mott Haven woman invited over a man she'd met on a smartphone messaging app, and then he drugged her and burglarized her home, she says.
The 33-year-old victim, who only gave her first name -- Latesha, says she used the app "Tango" to arrange several dates with the man before the incident.
"I felt comfortable enough to invite him over so we could have a good time at my house," she says. "I didn't pay it any mind. I didn't think anything suspicious because I had hung out with him before."
She says that once she brought him to her apartment, he drugged her and stole about $5,000 worth of electronics, including several pricey Apple products and items belonging to her daughter.
She also says that when she finally awoke, she was naked in her bed and her couch had been pushed up against her bedroom door.
Latesha says that police told her the suspect has a history of assaults and robberies.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
