Surveillance video shows man breaking into 5 Bronx businesses
Police are looking for a man accused of robbing five businesses and stealing at least $2,800.
The incident happened Monday morning just after midnight on East 172nd Street.
Officials say it took the suspect about two hours to break in to and rob the stores. Surveillance video shows the man entering the Alpha Deli and Grocery on East 172nd Street. Authorities say he was able to remove $1,900 from their cash register.
Police say the man stole anywhere from $45 to $450 from the four other businesses.
They say the suspect pulled on the side of the commercial roll-down security gate on all the businesses and was able to break in.
They say he was able to lift a portion of it up and then enter through an unlocked door.
