2 suspects assault Family Dollar employees during robbery

Police are looking for two people accused of robbing a Southern Boulevard Family Dollar.

They say the suspects were armed with a knife and tried to leave the store without paying for any of the items they were carrying.

According to police, when two employees tried to stop the suspects outside the store, a fight started. They say the male suspect pulled the knife out and began punching the 33-year-old employee in the face and body. The female suspect struggled with the 21-year-old employee before both suspects ran off, according to authorities.

Police say one of the store employees was taken to the hospital and later released.

They say both victims are expected to be OK.
