A Baychester deli worker says he thwarted an attempted armed robbery.
Ahmed Hussein scared off two would-be robbers at the Finest Deli Thursday night.
Police say two masked men entered the deli on Gun Hill Road around 11 p.m. Surveillance video shows a suspect waving a gun at the deli worker and telling him to turn over money.
The victim reached for the gun and grabbed one of the suspects' hand. A shot was fired, and the two men fled empty-handed.
Hussein wasn't hurt. He says he is no hero and that he is just a thankful and religious man.
