Federal investigation finds majority of NYC schools not suitable for children with disabilities
A federal investigation has found that 83 percent of New York City's public elementary schools are not fully accessible to children with disabilities.
The investigation also found the city's school system violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.
According to the New York Times, a Department of Education spokesman says they are cooperating with the investigation, and have set aside $100 million for accessibility projects.
