Volunteers clean up Kingsbridge park
Volunteers spruced up a littered lot near Bailey Playground Monday in the hope of turning it into green space in the future.
The site is often overlooked and has collected years' worth of trash, according to the Friends of Tibbett's Tail group.
The volunteers say the cleanup is part of their plan of "activating unused green space."
The group picked up trash and recyclables and says further cleanups are planned for the spring.
"The area just kind of sits here, and we're not sure what it is," says Sara Kempton, one of the volunteers. "People just kind of walk their dogs by it...There is a lot of potential here to develop it into something better used by people in the community."
