Police: 4 men impersonated police officers, carjacked minivan

Four men impersonated police officers and carjacked a vehicle in the Bronx, according to police.

They say it happened on Dec.14, at Morris Avenue and East 182nd Street around 4 p.m.

According to police, the four men stopped their vehicle behind the victim's minivan and got out. They say the four men approached the van and identified themselves as police officers instructing the victim and his two passengers to exit the vehicle.

Police say once the victims got out of their car, a suspect jumped into the driver's seat and drove off. The other suspects also got back into their car and drove away.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau at 212-741-8401.
