Fire in Longwood destroys local restaurant
The beginning of a new year brought tragedy for the owners of one restaurant in Hunts Point after a fire broke out this afternoon.
Officials say Milly's Corner on Longwood Avenue burst into flames just before 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Fire crews said that there was no one in the building upon arrival. There were no injuries reported.
Sources say nothing was left behind except a charred exterior on a business that's only been open for a year.
More than a dozen firefighters spent about 30 minutes extinguishing the flames on the second floor of Milly's Corner. Officials say the flames spread to a connected building.
News 12 tried to reach out to the owner of Milly's Corner but she had no comment on this report.
