Police: Woman injured in hit-and-run
A driver hit a woman at the foot of the Willis Avenue Bridge and fled the scene, police say.
Dolores Manos, a Manhattan resident who was visiting family in the Bronx, says she was walking in the 135th Street crosswalk when a white Nissan Altima hit her on her right side, knocking her to the ground.
Manos says she is in major pain, but is thankful to be alive.
She says the car had conspicuous chrome rims, but did not get a good look at the driver and is asking that person to come forward.
Police are reviewing area cameras for possible footage of the suspect.
