Bronx preschools participate in New York Institute’s winter Olympics program

About 125 Bronx preschoolers showed off their athletic side by participating in a winter Olympics readiness program.

The gymnasium at the New York Institute for Special Education was transformed into a winter sports area.

Children with learning disabilities, ages 3 to 5 years old participated in eight events to better enhance sensory, coordination and motor skills.

The institution has been hosting the event for students and parents for the past 15 years.

Administrators say the different activities are not only fun, but they help the students improve social skills.
