Police ID man who died after fight on sidewalk

Police say Edwardo Medina, 33, died after a fight on a sidewalk in Wakefield.

Witnesses say Medina and the suspect had some sort of argument around 4:30 p.m. Friday on E. 233rd Street.

That is when officials say the suspect, Jamal Williams, 33, got into a physical altercation with Medina.

Medina was rushed to Montefiore Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not confirmed if the fight is what killed Medina. The medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death.

Police say Williams has been arrested and is now charged with assault.
