A man has died after being hit by a car while crossing the street in the Bronx less than 24 hours after a man was killed by a hit-and-run driver, police say.
It happened Sunday around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of McGraw Avenue and Unionport Road.
Police say they discovered the body of a 33-year-old man lying down motionless in the middle of the street after receiving calls that someone had been hit. They say the man was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the driver of the car stayed on the scene and told police he felt a "large bump" after he attempted to pass two double parked cars.
There were no arrests, and police say they are still investigating.
