Dunkin’ Donuts employee slashed in the face at Bronx walk-up window

A 31-year-old man allegedly slashed a Dunkin' Donuts employee's face Wednesday morning on East Kingsbridge Road near Jerome Avenue.

Police say employees asked the man to leave the store around 6 a.m., before he attacked one of them at the walk-up window.

The victim, a 35-year-old woman, was transported to North Central Bronx Hospital. She is in stable condition. She was working an overnight shift, and her husband was also in the store at the time.

Witnesses say the suspect, identified by police as Ronald Thompson, stripped off his clothes in the middle of the store before the victim and other employees asked him to leave. He did, then returned with a sharp object and allegedly slashed the woman across the face.

Police say they took Thompson into custody Wednesday. They charged him with two counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Louis Agirre, who witnessed the attack, says he called 911 immediately.

"I wanted to help her so bad, but there was just so much blood," Agirre says.
