Delegate-rich New York could play a pivotal role in the presidential primaries.

On the Republican side, frontrunner Donald Trump is 848 delegates shy of clinching the nomination. In Trump's home state of New York, the April 19 primary is one of the biggest prizes in the delegate race.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino says voters shouldn't rule out Trump. "People thought Ronald Reagan was a buffoon in the 70s and he turned out to be the greatest president in our country," said Astorino.

Also in the New York world of politics, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Monday he would not wage a third-party bid for the presidency. He said it's a "risk he will not take."
