Rescuers: No sign of cat trapped on rooftop

Rescuers attempted unsuccessfully Monday to retrieve a cat that has been stuck on a Hunts Point rooftop for almost a week.

The FDNY and Animal Care and Control searched the Spofford Avenue roof Monday but could not find the feline.

Neighbors of the old juvenile detention center told News 12 they were happy to hear that rescue efforts were underway.

Maintenance workers again searched the building later in the day but also turned up empty-handed.
