Residents ask city to turn lights on at park
The lights are out at Pelham Bay Park, according to a group of City Island residents who want officials to fix the problem.
The City Island Civic Association says the lack of lighting has made the park unsafe for at least a year.
The association has accused city agencies of finger-pointing the blame at one another rather than fixing the lights, and that calls to 311 haven't led to any resolution.
The Parks Department redirected a News 12 inquiry to the Department of Transportation.
The DOT says it's aware of the problem and working on a fix.
