Police release sketch of one suspect accused of slashing jogger in the Bronx
Police have released a composite sketch of one of the suspects accused of slashing a jogger inside Van Courtlandt Park.
It happened on March 22, around 7:15 p.m. at the park.
Police say the suspect distracted a man who was jogging on the Putnam Trail just south of Hudson and East Broadway when another man punched and slashed the jogger in the face.
He suffered a laceration to the right side of his jaw, police say.
They say the man who accompanied the suspect did not attack the jogger, but assisted the suspect.
Both men ran away, and no arrests have been made.
The victim suffered a two inch gash on his face. He was treated at the scene, but refused to be transported to the hospital.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
