Car jumps curb, smashes through storefront

A car jumped a curb and crashed through a Fordham jewelry store Wednesday.

Police say a middle-aged driver traveling eastbound on Fordham Road smashed through the Gee the Jeweler store around 7 p.m.

Four women inside the store at the time of the crash were rushed to the hospital. News 12 is told the youngest woman is 15 years old.

News 12 is told there were no drugs or alcohol involved in the incident, but the driver was arrested because he was not carrying any papers.

All of the victims are expected to be OK.
