Mayor criticized for skit with Hillary Clinton
A skit performed by Mayor Bill de Blasio and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is receiving harsh criticism.
The two performed a joke at the Inner Circle dinner Saturday. The racially charged joke based on a stereotype regarding African-Americans running late.
De Blasio defended the joke on a CNN appearance Monday night. He said, "Hillary Clinton and Leslie Odom Jr. thought it was a joke on a different convention so I think people are missing the point here."
Some Bronx residents disagree with the mayor, saying the joke was in poor taste. They say people, especially politicians, should think about how remarks are going to make people feel.
