Police have released new surveillance video of two suspects they say are responsible for slashing a man on the subway in the Bronx.

It happened on April 5, around 1:15 a.m. on the southbound 2 train.

Police say the two suspects came up to the 26-year-old man and tried to steal his backpack.

According to police, the victim fought back, but was subsequently slashed on the back of the head, his forehead and left hand.

Police say the victim got off at the Jackson Avenue station, and was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police say the two suspects are still at large.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
