Police: 24-year-old Dennis Rodriguez dead, 5 others injured in attack outside Xtreme Lounge on Valentine Avenue in Fordham
Police say one person is dead and five others are injured following a violent attack outside a nightclub early Sunday morning.
It happened at around 4 a.m. outside the Xtreme Lounge, located at 2510 Valentine Ave.
Police say three people were shot, two were slashed and another was attacked with a baseball bat.
The victims, who are all in their 20s, were taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital.
One of the victims, 24-year-old Dennis Rodriguez, was shot in the torso and pronounced dead.
His sister, Danely Merejo, says the family is heartbroken and just want police to find the person responsible for the crime.
"Dennis was a great guy," she said. "He was a wonderful young man, hard-working, loving. I don't know why this happened to him. Wrong place at the wrong time."
Another shooting victim, who was hit in the head, is in critical condition. The remaining four are in stable condition.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
