Suspects caught on camera while stealing camera

It's not everyday that a business owner gets a good chuckle out of having her property stolen, but one Wakefield woman is doing just that.

The owner of a Wakefield business says two people stole a surveillance camera from the exterior of her office around 3:30 a.m. last Tuesday. She knows because the act was caught on camera and while the suspects took the camera, she has the video.

"You're stealing a camera that's taking a picture of you stealing the camera," she says. "We laughed."

In the video, a man hoists up a woman who then yanks down the camera.

The business owner says at first she was very upset about the incident, considering that her business has only been open since May, but she has no plans to leave the neighborhood.

The business owner alerted the police about the incident, but she says she doesn't expect to find the thieves or get back her camera, which she plans to replace.
