Jazz at Lincoln Center's Middle School Jazz Academy Project comes to the Bronx
Bronx kids with an ear for music are taking part in the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Middle School Jazz Academy.
Jazz at Lincoln Center, Lehman College and Mind Builders Creative Arts center teamed up to bring the academy to the Bronx.
Select kids auditioned over the summer to earn a spot in the program, which has free tuition. Students receive private music lessons and become members of an orchestra with the help of a professional music instructor.
Teachers say the program is a great opportunity for the kids and an important project for the Bronx.
At the end of the 26-week program, the kids will put on a recital for family and friends to show off their musical talents.
