Bronx drivers enjoying low prices at the pump

Cheaper gasoline prices are making for happy drivers around the borough.

The latest numbers from AAA show that in New York City, $3.58 is the average price for a gallon of regular gas. That's down nearly 20 cents from a month ago.

Nationwide, the average price is about $3.19 per gallon, down 15 cents from this time last year.

According to AAA, if cheaper crude prices and sufficient supply levels continue, as many as 20 states could reach an average of less than $3 per gallon before the end of the year.

Drivers who spoke with News 12 The Bronx at a Shell station say they're pleased by the tumbling prices. Some said they were able to spend more on groceries and bills.
