Domestic abuse survivor Zelideth Diaz speaks to News 12

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and News 12 is working to spread the message that "love shouldn't hurt."

Domestic abuse survivor Zelideth Diaz spoke with News 12 reporter Magdalena Doris in the studio Monday night about her experiences.

She says she felt compelled to tell her story as a way of helping someone that may be in a similar situation.

New York City has a 24-hour domestic violence hotline that can be reached by calling 1-800-621-HELP.
