3 Bronx schools scheduled to close

Three Bronx schools will close after a vote passed by the Department of Education policy panel.

The panel was held in Manhattan Wednesday night where officials voted to close the three schools due to poor test scores and student enrollment.

According to the DOE, Monroe Academy for Visual Arts and Design, Leadership Institute, and JHS 145 Arturo Toscanini will all close by the end of the 2017 school year.

A vote was also passed to close two schools in Brooklyn.
