Bronx hospital workers treated to new lunch options at festival
Employees at Jacobi Medical Center were treated to some new lunch options at the first Food Truck Fest Friday.
A dozen vendors served up food to hundreds of workers from the hospital. Representatives from Jacobi Medical Center say they wanted to offer new choices to as many staff members that could make it down to the trucks.
"They work tired, they work double shifts, could even be more than a double shift, so we really wanted to do something for them that we've never done before," says Vivian Nolan, director of education at Jacobi Medical Center.
Workers say the food was great and it was a nice change from their usual choices. The workers say they have been asking for more variety since there are limited affordable dining options in the area.
The food trucks will return to the hospital on April 24.
