3 NYPD off-duty officers arrested in separate incidents

THE BRONX -

Three off-duty NYPD officers were arrested in separate incidents in the Bronx.

Authorities say around 6 p.m. Saturday they arrested 31-year-old Officer Candice Smith after she got into a fight with someone she knew.

A few hours later, they arrested Detective Effrain Medina.

The 51-year-old is charged with driving while intoxicated.

Authorities say they also arrested 32-year-old Officer Neville Smith around 6 a.m. Sunday.

Smith was arrested after a car crash that killed one person and left two others injured. He was charged with assault, driving while intoxicated and refusal to take a breathalyzer test.
