Cardinal Dolan commends BX food pantry on Holy Thursday

Cardinal Timothy Dolan recognized Catholic Charities of New York on Holy Thursday for its work feeding thousands of needy New Yorkers this year.

In the Bronx, the local Catholic Charities food distribution center helps feed hundreds of people a day. It has distributed more than 518,000 pounds of food since opening in July. During his visit, the cardinal took part in the charitable work.

The pantry is open three days a week and feeds everyone who registers, regardless of their faith.

Christians around the world commemorate the Last Supper of Jesus Christ on Holy Thursday.
