Neighbors want all-way stop at Stadium Ave., Spencer Drive

The civic associations of Spencer Estate and Country Club are demanding safety improvements to the intersection of Stadium Avenue and Spencer Drive.

They want all-way stop signs to force all drivers to halt before passing through.

"Most intelligent residents and motorists that travel through this intersection already come to a stop knowing that it's a dangerous intersection," says Michael McNerney, of the Country Club Civic Association. "We just feel that having the proper DOT signage in place would be a benefit to the entire community."

In 2015, a Department of Transportation study found that additional traffic controls were not warranted, but a spokesperson now says the DOT is going to reopen the study due to continued community concerns.

Neighbors say there is a school just a block away, which results in a lot of student foot traffic at the intersection.
