Bronx resident celebrates 107th birthday

Residents of the Belmont section of the Bronx celebrated a beloved member of their community who turned 107 years old Saturday.

Joe Binder celebrated his 107th birthday at Providence Rest Nursing Home with three of his favorite things: good music, food and laughter.

Binder, who remains active, is an inspiration to many, which is why Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. declared Saturday Joe Binder Day.

Binder returns to Pasquale's Rigoletto on Arthur Avenue every Saturday night to sing and tell jokes.

He says he worked in the valet parking booth at Mario's Restaurant into his early 100s.
