Police: PSX 186 evacuated after reports of intruder break-in

A Bronx school was evacuated Friday after police say school officials reported a break-in at the building overnight.

Police say a school official called authorities around 6 a.m. to report that an intruder had broken into PSX 186 on Jennings Street at some point overnight.

Students were not allowed into the school when they arrived for class in the morning and were instead brought to P811X.

NYPD remained on scene for several hours attempting to locate a possible suspect, but turned up empty handed.

Police say the students are safe.
