Police: Robbers target man carrying $48,000 in plastic bag

Authorities have released surveillance video of the brazen robbers who stole thousands of dollars from a bank worker during the day.

The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on March 8.

Police say a 27-year-old ATM worker was walking on Buhre Avenue with $48,000 in cash when two men approached him. Surveillance video shows a man in a white hooded sweatshirt running up to the victim, ripping the bag of money out his hands and causing all the cash to spill onto the sidewalk.

The victim can be seen trying to defend himself when a second man approaches and starts hitting him. Police say the two suspects managed to grab more than $20,000 and took off in a silver car.

The victim suffered minor injuries to the face, but was otherwise OK.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
