Driver sought after hit-and-run severely injures man

The family of a hit-and-run victim in the Bronx are asking police to do their due diligence as the driver who hit him is still on the run.

The hit-and-run occurred March 25 on West Fordham Road around 5 a.m.

Ruben Ramos Sr. says he was trying to cross the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with a broken leg, a thumb that required more than 20 stitches and bruises to his face.

Ramos Sr. also suffered a concussion and says he can't remember anything after he was hit.

"I was left there to die. It's terrible to do something like that to someone," Ramos Sr. says. "At least get out and stop and find out what's going on."

Ramos' family says the intersection where he was hit is very dangerous, and that there have been multiple fatal incidents there before.

No arrests have been made.
