Rally raises autism awareness on World Autism Day

A rally was held in the Bronx Sunday to raise awareness about autism and mark World Autism Day.

The organization "I Am Sam" hosted the rally and walk. It was founded by the family of a man who has autism.

The group says it wants people to understand the disorder and stop bullying people affected by it.

According to Autism Speaks, a government survey suggests that one in 45 children have been diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder. Organizers say this is a reason why everyone should be "lighting up blue" to raise awareness.
