Fordham hosts first-ever Bronx Celebration Day

From food to the arts to history and everything in between, the best the borough has to offer was on display on Sunday at Fordham University as the school hosted the first-ever Bronx Celebration Day.

Among the people and items at the event were a Bronx-centric food magazine, several clothing designers, plus artisan soaps, jewelry and art, all made by Bronx residents. There were also booths from local businesses and a speaker from the Bronx Historical Society.

The student organizers say they wanted to hold the event to show just how unique the Bronx is and all the goodness that can be found in the borough. They say that many people think that the Bronx is still stuck in the 70s and that is not the case. In their opinion, the Bronx is booming.

The students say they're hoping to make it an annual event and make it bigger and better every year.
